Project Manager

Our client is looking for Project managers to work from home. As a Project Manager you will be responsible for supporting the management delivery of one or more Vaccines Taskforce projects. You will play a key role in managing the project through its various governance stages. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs/programme outcomes are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.

The Vaccines Taskforce’s purpose is to secure access to promising vaccine/s for the UK population, make provision for international distribution of vaccines and support industrial strategy by helping build a permanent team and vaccine and biotherapeutic capability to support a pandemic response. A programme has been established with a number of different projects ranging from selecting vaccine candidates, through manufacturing, clinical trials and through to deployment. All roles in the taskforce require the ability to work successfully with a “rainbow” team of industry specialists, short term contractors and civil servants of multiple fields and departmental backgrounds. The Taskforce is now part of a joint unit with the DHSC but based in BEIS.

As the project manager you will have experience in the following:

• Stakeholders – build and nurture professional relationships with a wide range of partners. You'll collaborate directly with these partners, bringing together information and knowledge as required.

• Risks and Issues –supporting the identification of threats to delivery working with risk managers to monitor and evaluate risks and managing reporting on issues and risks as appropriate.
• Building Capability-Using your project delivery experience and knowledge to provide guidance and support to colleagues.

• Knowledge Management-Ensuring that all programme information and metrics are up to date and accurate.

• Planning and scheduling – Implementing and maintaining appropriate systems to enable effective planning of the projects in our programme.

• Monitoring and reporting – Maintain project controls and support teams to prepare project performance reports. Challenge colleagues (including at senior level) on inputs to planning and reporting as required.

• Governance- Support function of various boards and forums on behalf of the Programme. Act as a point of contact for governance and reporting
