QHSE & Admin Manager
Location: Vadodara, Gujarat
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive QHSE & Admin Manager to lead our client's Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Administrative functions. This pivotal role ensures that all fabrication activities—from cutting and welding to assembly and finishing—meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will drive risk mitigation, uphold product integrity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management
- Design and maintain an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System tailored to metal fabrication.
- Ensure adherence to welding procedures, dimensional tolerances, and finishing standards.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage calibration and upkeep of inspection and testing equipment.
2. Health & Safety
- Enforce compliance with occupational safety norms, especially for high-risk activities (welding, grinding, lifting, refractory work).
- Conduct HSE audits, risk assessments, mock drills, and incident investigations.
- Implement Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), permit-to-work protocols, and PPE compliance.
- Deliver fabrication-specific safety training and awareness programs.
- Keep safety policies and training aligned with industry standards and company guidelines.
3. Environmental Management
- Apply ISO 14001-based environmental controls for emissions, chemical handling, and waste management.
- Ensure safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials (solvents, coatings, cutting fluids).
- Promote sustainability initiatives such as scrap recycling and energy conservation.
4. Compliance & Administration
- Integrate internal controls into organizational procedures and monitor through audits and reports.
- Identify and manage statutory and regulatory compliance for the workshop.
- Coordinate with legal partners for timely approvals and renewals.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (Factories Act, Environment Act, ESIC, PF, etc.) in collaboration with HR, Finance, and Production.
- Oversee workshop administration in coordination with the Plant Head:
- Security and asset safety
- Asset health monitoring
- Travel and logistics for company visitors
- Vendor management for consumables (rate contracts, PO system)
5. Leadership & Coordination
- Build and mentor QHSE teams within contractor groups.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and project teams to embed QHSE principles.
- Interface with clients and external auditors on QHSE matters and certifications.
- Lead certification efforts (ASME, ISO, IBR, PESO, EN, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of QHSE management experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
- ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Proficient in quality tools, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Strong understanding of fabrication-specific standards (welding codes, OSHA, machine safety).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Working Conditions
- Split between office and workshop environments with regular shop floor presence.
- Mandatory use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols in high-risk zones.
- Occasional travel to project sites or client locations.
