About the role
The role of Specialist Safety is to engage and support our management teams to develop and execute quality HSE risk assessments, event investigations, field leadership and compliance to relevant safety requirements. You will assist with providing input into safety planning and risk management processes as well as coach, influence and provide technical expertise in service of building great safety leadership capability. Role duration will commence by the end of January 2021 and is fixed term to the 4th of May 2021.
Key Deliverables of the Role:
Provision of Field Leadership coaching
Delivery of JHA training for both Construction and Operational Readiness
Coaching leaders in event management and investigation
Delivery of core competency matrix HSE requirements to line leaders
Provision coaching on the use of risk management tools
About you
To be successful in the Specialist Safety role you will have a genuine desire to help people achieve positive safety outcomes; combined with a clear understanding of the role that the resources sector plays in protecting the safety of our most important asset – our people.
Your previous experience will mean that you have the ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders, with excellent engagement skills. You will be committed to coaching, influencing, and enabling others.
You will be able to work as part of a team but also be comfortable working autonomously when required and make informed decisions. You will be motivated by a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to problem solve and drive positive change.
Location and roster
This position is regionally based in Western Australia supporting our South Flank Project Fly In Fly Out. The opportunity afforded by gaining experience working within a major project the size and scale of South Flank is considerable, with exposure to Construction and Commissioning disciplines and also setting up leaders in the emerging and rapidly growing South Flank Operations team for future success.
