We’re seeking an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor with rigging expertise to join a reputable offshore oil and gas project in Equatorial Guinea—offering challenging work, a strong safety culture, and the chance to be part of a high-performing offshore team on a long-term international assignment.
Job Summary
The Scaffolding Supervisor is responsible for the safe planning, erection, inspection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures on offshore oil and gas facilities in Equatorial Guinea. The role also includes overseeing rigging and lifting activities related to scaffolding works, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, international safety standards, and client requirements. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to safety in a challenging offshore environment.
Requirements
- Supervise and coordinate all scaffolding and associated rigging activities on offshore installations.
- Ensure scaffolding systems are erected, modified, and dismantled in accordance with approved designs, procedures, and industry standards.
- Plan and oversee lifting operations related to scaffolding, including selection of appropriate rigging equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and sign-off of scaffolding structures before use.
- Enforce compliance with offshore HSE policies, permits to work, and toolbox talks.
- Lead and mentor scaffolding crews, ensuring competence, productivity, and safe work behaviors.
- Liaise with construction, maintenance, and QA/QC teams to support project schedules.
- Maintain accurate records, including inspections, handover certificates, and material tracking.
Qualifications
- Trade certification or vocational qualification in Scaffolding or Structural Construction.
- Valid Scaffolding Supervisor certification (e.g., CISRS Advanced / Supervisor or equivalent).
- Recognized rigging certification with proven experience in offshore lifting operations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas projects, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of international offshore safety standards and scaffolding codes.
- Ability to work rotational offshore schedules in Equatorial Guinea.
- Strong leadership, communication, and risk-awareness skills.
- Offshore safety certificates (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, medical fitness) are highly desirable
