Job profile
Lead a team of technicians in installing and maintaining electrical power supply and distribution systems (including mobile diesel-generator sets) for all building and terminal facilities.

Main duties and responsibilities
 Assist and support the Engineering Manager or Assistant Maintenance Manager and all other section heads to liaise with Dammam Port Management or Saudi Government Authorities in implementation of any major electrical projects or maintenance works.
 Organize and manage electrical installation projects and maintenance works; and provide professional advice for formulating maintenance strategy.
 Prepare specifications, drawings, work schedules and tender documents and monitor contractors to carry out electrical installation projects and maintenance works.
 Assist the Engineering Manager in preparing tender evaluation report on electrical projects or maintenance works.
 Assist the Engineering Manager in preparing electrical project or maintenance work proposals including ES and PIPSA.
 Assist the Engineering Manager in providing input for evaluation and appointment of consultants and contractors, and manages tender related issues.
 Prepare CAPEX and OPEX (R&M) for all sections under his custody.
 Liaise with end users, consultants, contractors and in-house maintenance teams on electrical installation projects and maintenance works.
 Establish modification, renovation and maintenance work plans, schedules, operation & maintenance procedures, work safety guidelines and service checklists.
 Set up and ensures emergency procedures and contingency plans are in place and complied with statutory requirements.
 Lead and supervise a team of technical staff to carry out regular planned service and maintenance works including emergency breakdown trouble-shooting and repair to the electrical power supply and distribution systems for all buildings and terminal facilities.
 Maintain the electrical power supply and distribution systems in sound operational status by following equipment OEM’s operation, maintenance and repair instructions and procedures.
 Control project cost, maintenance expense and overtime cost within the approved CAPEX and OPEX budget.
 Evaluate electrical power supply, distribution and protection systems’ components, parts and materials availability; and recommend stock level for the critical parts.
 Update and housekeep electrical power supply and distribution system schematics, layouts, operation and maintenance manuals.
 Conduct daily, weekly or monthly meeting with Consultant, Contractors or in-house maintenance team to discuss important matters pertaining to the electrical projects or maintenance works progress, workmanship and material standards, safety & health issues and manpower deployment.
 Prepare regular reports on work progress, equipment serviceability and performance, work safety, KPIs, manning deployment, overtimes, budget control and cost saving initiatives.
 Set up and maintain an archive on all maintenance or service logs, records and checklists with proper verification and endorsement signatures.
 Conduct regular inspections and tests on the electrical systems and installations (including Quayside Container Cranes equipment) to ensure a proper and correct protection discrimination level is set in accordance with the local codes of practice, statutory rules & regulations and safety requirements.
 Set up and implement housekeeping and workshop management system including proper tools and equipment (including PPEs) usage and effective stock control.
 Enforce and ensure all staff undertakes their duties in compliance with environmental, safety & health standards and practices in line with Company’s policies, rules, regulations and work procedures at all time.
 Assess electrical power supply and distribution systems’ serviceability and reliability against breakdown and failure records; and provide improvement, upgrade or replacement recommendation.
 Assess staff technical competencies; identify training needs and formulate recruitment requirements.
 Raise purchase requisition or sign GRN for all materials and parts.
 Approve staff overtime work based on actual work need.
 Exercise disciplinary action where necessary and appropriate.
 Work at high level.
 Work overtime as requested by the Supervisor/Company based on actual need.
 Respond to any emergency calls and report duty under emergency to provide backup support.
 Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Supervisor/Company from time to time.

Education and Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
 A registered professional engineer in electrical engineering discipline.
 Minimum 8 years’ relevant working experience in LV, MV and HV power systems.
 Broad technical knowledge of MV and HV electrical power switchgears and equipment (including protection devices) switching and maintenance.
 Initiative, innovative and result-oriented.
 Proficient in written and spoken English.
 Strong supervisory, interpersonal and coaching skills.
 Good communication and organizational skills.
 Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making ability.
 Good report writing and presentation skills.
 Possess an advanced level of computer skills.
 Mature and able to work independently and under pressure.
 Possess good performance record of accomplishment with previous employers.
