An incredible chance is now available for a Senior Process Engineer to support major upcoming Copper and Zinc projects. This role carries significant technical responsibility and involves organizing, executing, and coordinating complex process engineering assignments. This role is based in Johannesburg.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead or contribute to engineering deliverables for study, feasibility, FEED, and execution phases.
- Develop Process Technology Quality Plans and Process Activity Plans for small to medium‑sized projects.
- Execute full process scope in alignment with contract requirements.
- Interface with project, planning, process, instrumentation, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Conduct process studies and develop engineering documents such as HMBs, specifications, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
- Accredited engineering degree (Chemical Engineering or related).
- 14+ years of relevant process engineering experience, including senior or lead responsibilities.
- Strong background in Copper or Zinc mineral processing (e.g., concentrators, hydrometallurgy, beneficiation).
- Proven ability to work on complex engineering scopes and coordinate multi‑discipline inputs.
- Excellent communication, technical judgment, and problem‑solving skills.
- Exposure to study and FEED development.
- Detailed engineering and execution.
- Process modelling and mass balance development.
- Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
