Our client is looking for a Sr Process Engineer (secondment to staff) to support their ongoing growth within the Energy Transition.

The company has the ambition to become a global processing company converting non-recyclable waste into valuable chemical building blocks and advanced biofuels. They offer a range of products from licensing, syngas islands to developing its own projects from initial concept based on own proprietary technology into full operation. 

As a Senior Process Engineer you will join an international team of passionate professionals. You will be a part of the Technology department, responsible for coordinating and executing strategic innovation projects, including R&D and IP activities. Your role involves supporting ongoing projects and ensuring the company maintains a technological lead in the market by continuously innovating existing technologies and developing new ones for sustainable Bio-Syngas production and downstream biofuels and Bio-Chemicals.

The job:
As the Sr Process Engineer you will have opportunities and projects assignments that range from feasibility studies, Concept and Basic Engineering design. In your new role, you will …
- Develop and issue engineering documents related to process (PFDs, P&IDs, H&MB, equipment process datasheets, instruments process datasheets, etc.).
- Participate in the reviews of license packages, basic, FEED and detail engineering deliverables from other parties.
- Ensure consistency between engineering deliverables in the project phases. Participate in HAZID/HAZOP/SIL meeting and Value Engineering sessions. Review technical offers from packages/equipment bidders and vendors.
- Obtain full understanding of the involved chemical process technologies.
- A proper engagement and collaboration with Process discipline lead and other engineering crew in the process discipline and other departments. 
- Coordinate with licensors / contractor technical team all process related issues and developments.
- Manage issues around environmental assessment and relevant authority requirements.
- Coordinate with operator teams to improve the process performance of the next projects. The Senior Process Engineer reports to the Lead Process Engineering.

- A Master's degree the field of Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or similar Natural Sciences, with a strong background in Biomass/Bioenergy, Gasification, and Thermo-kinetics.
- 8-15 years of demonstrated success in Gasification fields and Syngas processing within the Petrochemical or specialty Chemical industries.
- Significant & proven engineering experience in conceptual/Basic/FEED/EPC of gas processing industries, petrochemicals, etc. Biomass, Syngas handling and treatment, and methanol production experiences are a plus.
- Practical experience to develop conceptual and feasibility phase deliverables.
- Professional understanding of process technologies, particularly in thermo-chemical processes, and a general knowledge of biomass-to-bioenergy/fuel processing routes.
- Demonstrated experience in handling licensed process units and integrating different process and utility units, including involvement in License office activities and Basic Engineering phases.
- Having high knowledge about the process design criteria’s, process philosophies, and applicable international codes and Standards.
- Have good understanding of process systems and process packages functions. 
- Having experience and understanding of process simulation software (Aspen Plus, etc.) and tools.
- Have good experience with equipment selection and sizing.
- Have a good understanding of the control and safety systems in relation to the process requirements.
