Project Manager – Data Center (Tokyo, Japan)

Location: Tokyo (Must be local)

Language: Fluent Japanese required

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support Google’s APAC colocation data center fit‑out projects (Mini‑Cluster & Jenga). This role oversees end‑to‑end project delivery—from tender through execution—while working closely with colocation vendors, engineering teams, and Google’s regional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage colocation fit‑out projects through tender, execution, invoicing, and close‑out.
• Oversee day‑to‑day performance of third‑party construction vendors (on‑site or remotely).
• Ensure full adherence to Google’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
• Monitor project schedules, risks, logistics, and milestone readiness (ESA, FR, SCR).
• Review technical submittals, RFPs, shop drawings, and design scopes.
• Coordinate with Google’s design, engineering, and partner teams to ensure technical compliance.
• Manage weekly project meetings, progress reports, Workfront updates, and documentation.
• Lead site walkdowns and ensure completion of punchlists and acceptance checklists.
• Support commissioning readiness, including security system installation and testing.
• Identify lessons learned and continuously improve project execution processes.

What We’re Looking For

• 10–15 years of construction or data center project management experience.
• Fluent in Japanese and strong communication skills in complex environments.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong business acumen and ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Experience working with global cross‑functional teams is highly desirable.
