We are seeking a Substation Electrical Designer for our client on a direct hire basis. will help to design critical high-voltage substations nationwide. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Boston, MA.
Job Requirements:
- Develop electrical design documents including single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, plans, and details.
- Produce symbols, legends, equipment specifications, and technical notes.
- Support schematic design, design development, and construction‑level documents.
- Coordinate drawing packages with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines.
- Assist engineers with power studies and quality assurance across deliverables.
- Ensure designs meet NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of electrical design experience within substations, distribution, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation (2D and 3D).
- Experience physically laying down a substation and changing bays.
- Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ISA, and NESC codes.
- Experience with PLC/HMI or SCADA systems, preferred.
- EIT or PE license, preferred.
