KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with Suppliers on procurement and turnaround needs
- Coordinate and lead expediting meetings with critical/bulk vendors
- Coordinate with buyers, materials management and planning personnel to resolve delivery and material questions as well as update status accordingly
- Expedite long lead, critical and past due materials/equipment
- Expedite engineering drawings from supplier and approval of the same when applicable
- Ensure all material and service suppliers have confirmed POs and manage status reports
- Ability to challenge suppliers on delivery delays and prioritize delivery date commitments already agreed upon in the PO.
- Establish and maintain files
- Coordinate with other members of Procurement and Turnaround teams
- Manage expediting and other report updates
- Other duties as assigned
- Optional: Buyer experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Document management skills
- Effective Communication Skills (both verbal and written)
- Self-motivated and creative in getting results while overcoming obstacles
- Good interpersonal skills to get cooperation from suppliers, customers and peers
- Detail-oriented to identify inconsistencies and suggest corrections
- Use of MS office suite - especially Word and Excel
- Ability to chase down due actions and get resolution
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of procurement environment
- Effective conflict resolution and problem solving skills
