Job Title: Mechanical Designer – Bulk Materials Handling
Location: Gurgaon, India

Job Description

Senior Mechanical Designer with a strong background in bulk material handling systems for mining projects.
The ideal candidate will lead the development of 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for bulk material handling facility layouts, including conveyor systems, crushing stations, storage bins, and stockpile configurations. This role demands strong technical expertise and the ability to drive design efforts from initial concept through to final construction.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Lead Engineer to understand equipment selection and design criteria.
  • Develop belt conveyor layouts and associated facilities using 2D and/or 3D CAD tools.
  • Produce detailed 2D drawings of bulk material handling systems—including conveyors, conveyor sub-assemblies, transfer towers, and storage facilities—from study phases through to construction, in line with industry drafting standards.
  • Lead the development of 3D models of bulk material handling facilities with construction-level detail.
  • Assign tasks and review work completed by other designers to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Integrate supplier drawings and equipment details into project models and drawings.
  • Conduct 3D model reviews with project teams and clients to validate design intent and constructability.
  • Mentor and train junior designers to build team capability.

Basic Job Requirements:
  • Accredited (2) years of ITI or 3 years of diploma or global equivalent in field of study related to CAD or mechanical design.
  • Over 12 years of experience in designing conveyor, crushing and/or screening facilities design using 2D and/or 3D CAD for mining projects. Minimum Eight (8) years of experience for Diploma holders.
  • Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively—often via video or audio conferencing—with remote teams and clients.
