Charterer

TRS Middle East is recruiting for a Charterer for a trading arm of a leading Refinery in the Middle East.

The job holder carries out and handles Chartering, demurrage claims and product delivery activities in accordance with established company policies, guidelines and good industry standards in the most efficient and cost-effective way, alongside finding a top quality of deliverance by reducing the risk of any delays and other obstacles that might affect the company’s rapport with the customer. The job holder need to keep abreast of day to day changes and provides regular market assessment of freight cost from Bahrain and to various destination and compare such cost with those originating from other supply sources.

Knowledge skills and Experience:
• BSc in Engineering, Business, Economic or equivalent.
• A degree in Maritime operation is preferred
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Shipping Operations, Logistics, Planning and Marine Operations, especially in the petroleum industry.
• Detailed knowledge of Marine chartering and knowledge of current trends in petroleum shipping and maritime laws, oil tanker operations and product specifications.
• Demonstrated leadership attributes and a desire to lead and develop people. Team player able to assist in creating and operating in an environment that is making the change from conventional long-term sales to trading business
• Experience with dealing with multinational vessel owners/brokers/shipping Agent and international logistics providers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good negotiating and influencing skill.
• Computer literate and working knowledge of computer business applications.
• Ability to deal with customers from diverse background.
• Prior experience in the middle east is a plus
