TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Civil Design Supervisor role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of equipment, materials, and subcontracted services.
- Contribute to process improvement by helping shape departmental practices, templates, and quality standards.
- Track material quantities, analyze usage trends, and support procurement planning with data‑driven forecasts.
- Resolve project challenges by assessing issues and recommending viable technical solutions.
- Develop integrated and cost‑efficient design solutions aligned with project goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and review design specifications, criteria documents, and technical standards.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of designers and technical specialists across assigned project areas.
- Prepare project estimates, design schedules, progress updates, staffing forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- A technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent.
- Minimum 20 years in design or engineering‑related roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in large industrial, resource, or heavy‑infrastructure projects.
- Practical field experience supporting construction or installation activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Understanding of material availability, cost considerations, and constructability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project leaders, contractors, and vendors.
- Advanced proficiency with 2D and 3D design platforms and digital review tools used in engineering environments.
- Solid understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and design standards.
