Position Summary

The Site Engineer performs a technical, organisational and supervisory role focuses on the construction of the infrastructure relating to streets, transportation, sewer and water, the electrical works, Mechanical and HVAC, besides organizing the works for all other engineering functions at the site. He oversees the actual construction on the ground and work in conjunction with the contractors and all other specialist engineers.

This can be achieved by assuring:

1. Align and organize works of all engineering specialties at site so they follow the set plan.
2. Facilitate the approval process and phase submittal so as to avoid delays and/or overlapping
3. Maintains fixed schedule of SOWs, WBS and different project deliverables and milestones
4. Is always present at site supervising actual works and implementation. Organizing and giving advice and instructions of work on the spot,
5. Liaises any issues contacts with the construction and design teams as being key member of the PMO – Project management office and DBO –

Design and Build Office
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Blue (Operations):
1. Organizes and aligns the works of all Engineering specialties at site according to set plan
2. Collates and analysis different works completion reports and data for their conformance and quality to set standards
3. Approves SOW,s and IR’s requests and final results
4. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
5. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility
6. Where appropriate, manage the selection, use and requisition of materials and plant for use in the construction
7. Surveying the site. Set out (marking the position of structures) and levelling the site. Checking drawings and quantities and confirming calculations are accurate for work to be undertaken by contractors.
8. Attend regular project progress meetings
9. Liaise with Architects, Engineers and Surveyors as necessary
10. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and general workforce on the project
11. Monitor transportation, hydraulic, Mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and structures and makes recommendations for alteration if appropriate
12. Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to confirm design specifications
13. Support the Project Manager in the day to day supervision and monitoring of BCC site labour force and the Contractors
14. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards
15. Issue conformance letters as required for work undertaken
16. Monitor and record contractor’s site activities at project site (resource utilisation: manpower and equipment)
17. Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions if required
18. Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel
19. Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel.
20. Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess the potential impact of projects.
21. Any relevant task that required by direct Manager


Red (Support Services):

1. Produce and issue progress reports to Construction Management
Key Performance Indicators
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are used to provide management focus and to establish a clear mechanism to determine future compensation, reward and career advancements will be based on your abilities and performance within the given role.
KPIs will be set according to the strategy and annual budgets and monitored on a quarterly basis. The KPIs be adjusted based on the quarterly review to ensure that all activity is aligned to the strategic objectives and any revised plans that may result from changes to market conditions or new product opportunities.
