This role is a key contributor to the project’s contracting strategy, procurement execution, and interface management with internal teams, EPCM partners, and suppliers.
Work Location: Vancouver based only
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (long‑term project assignment)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day‑to‑day procurement of goods and services for a major capital project.
- Support project transitions to updated procurement and commercial systems (Fusion 2.0 or equivalent).
- Develop and maintain business process mapping for project commercial systems.
- Act as a systems specialist for procurement interfaces between project teams, AP, EPCM, and suppliers.
- Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders within SAP or similar ERP platforms.
- Prepare and manage service orders, contract variations, extensions, and change documentation.
- Review invoices to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and support payment processing.
- Foster strong working relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure high‑quality delivery of services.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement through informed negotiation and timely procurement execution.
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline.
- Proficiency with SAP (P2P, Ariba), ERP systems, and MS Office tools.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and commercial governance.
- Experience supporting major studies or capital projects is highly beneficial.
- Advanced communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external partners.
