Our client, a leading multidisciplinary engineering firm is looking for a Lead Expeditor in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The company is specializing in the oil & gas & energy markets, especially in the offshore industry all around the world.
As Lead Expeditor, you are responsible to manage the expediting teams and the timely delivery of materials and equipment necessary for projects and operations. This involves coordinating with suppliers, monitoring shipment schedules, and mitigating delays to keep projects and operations on track.
Responsibilities

Supply Chain Coordination: You work closely with suppliers to confirm order details, shipping dates, and delivery times.

Schedule Monitoring: You lead the tracking of the status of orders and expedite deliveries by addressing potential delays proactively.

Communication: You maintain regular communication with project management and operations teams, project procurement leads, project engineers, and logistics personnel to provide updates on manufacturing status.

Documentation: You maintain the Material Status Report forecast and actual delivery dates. You ensure all shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates, are accurate and complete.

Problem Resolution: You lead the identification and resolution of any issues that could impact the delivery schedule.

Vendor Management: You lead the evaluation of supplier performance and work with vendors to improve delivery times and reliability. You review vendor progress report from supplier and address identified issues.

Mentoring: You mentor the expediting team and support their activities as needed.
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred but not always required): ideally a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
Experience
-
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Knowledge of logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry supply chain.

Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
