We hereby offer you the opportunity to work as a Cost Engineer within a manufacturing company with over 200 years of experience in production of all type of chemicals.
We are seeking a strong candidate to provide Cost Control Services on Major and Minor projects for the Engineering Project Controls Competency and serve as the Fixed Asset Coordinator. This individual will be responsible to support project teams in change management, monthly financial reporting and forecasting while ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures. They will also be responsible for maintaining site asset records. The position will support continuous improvement of the competency through involvement in the CCE. The role will report functionally to the Cost Control Manager and administratively to the Site Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Control - Major and Minor Projects
• Prepares monthly Project Financial Reporting including, but not limited to, Capital Engineering, Field Costs, Equipment and Contingency
• Leads monthly project financial reviews
• Maintains change log, process and route change documentation or approval, updates corporate financial systems for Engineering and Construction
• Analyzes % Complete documentation
• Provides autonomous view of project financials to the project and business teams, including impacts of currency fluctuations
• Develops forecasts of total expenditures at project completion and works with the project manager to finalize for monthly report
• Researches and submits transfer requests as needed
• Utilizes procurement and schedule documents to develop expenditure forecasts
• Uploads final project financial file into database for metrics and key performance index (KPI) reporting
• Interacts with Chemours Finance as it relates to project financial reporting
• In conjunction with finance policy resources, provides cost vs cap guidance to Engineering organization
• Participates in SAP key user network and serves as a resource for the site
• Participates and provides documentation as required in project gate reviews, steering team meetings, and estimate/scope reviews
• Ensures projects are set up in financial system using Chemours best practices
• Works with project team to align Scope of Work (SOW), Construction Scope of Work (CSOW)/Estimate, and Schedule
Fixed Asset Coordination
• Ensures smooth communication with the Permanent Investment (PI) process center.
• Participate in competency network and provide consultation to project teams
• Understand Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations
• Support internal or external audits of the fixed asset accounting process
• Communicates asset movement data to Fixed Asset accounting center
• Reviews monthly fixed asset records to ensure movements, disposals, etc. are posted
• Initiate, coordinate, and facilitate the physical verifications of permanent investment, including those handled by 3rd parties, when requested
• Supports the capital project process.
• Support business capital coordinators with monthly and quarterly expenditure reconciliation.
• Support and contact for any internal or external audit of the Capex process
• Participates as SOX Control Owner in management evaluations
• Provides interface and linkage to the Asset Management group for sale and/or redeployment
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience
• Demonstrated adherence to all Chemours Core Values
• Ability to manage multiple project tasks and quickly initiate changes in plan when appropriate
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and deliver results.
• Strong organization and management abilities
• Fluency in Dutch and English
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
• Technical/Engineering background or experience strongly preferred
• 10+ years cost control experience in capital project strongly preferred
• 5+ years of chemical or related industry experience preferred
• Experience with multi-currency cost management strongly preferred
