MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operates the cranes by loading and unloading personnel by basket, material and equipment from mains platforms to boats and vice versa, all in accordance with specific lifting procedures.
• Carries out general inspection of cranes prior to operating them. Includes checking condition of wire ropes, brake system. bolts, pins and similar items and reports any potential defect or malfunction to the Supervisor
• Following up on movement of material between the different locations to ensure they are placed at the right destinations.
• Carries out all lifting operations in accordance to safety rules and company regulations.
• Assists maintenance and safety crews when carrying out works on cranes. Includes repositioning crane arm, lowering or lifting pulley, testing equipment, etc., as instructed by maintenance or safety crew.
• During helicopter operations, is responsible for safety of personnel and equipment on helideck during helicopter operations. Coordinates with radio operator and flight crews
• Assist with the activities as they relate to cargo handling, loading, and unloading.
• Inspection and proper storage of slings and related lift and rigging equipment.
• Ensuring a safe place of work by complying with Permit to Work (PTW) system and safe working procedure(s)
Desired Certifications & Experience:
• Valid Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 Certification
• Must be in possession of current crane, Lifting & rigging certificate
• STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers, IMO international convention) Regulation VI/1 Basic Safety Training, STCW Regulation VI/2 (1) PSCRB (Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats)
• Minimum 5-years of active experience as Bosun/Crane Operator in Offshore
• English reading and speaking
