Our client, together with its joint-venture partner AECOM, has been awarded a four-year program delivery support services contract for the California High-Speed Rail program by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to provide program delivery and program management services to support one of the largest planned infrastructure projects in the U.S.
This role requires Blackbelt Six Sigma experience (and certificate).
Basic Job Requirements:
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Jobsite experience and understanding of the construction safety program
• Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) project management
• Project or area management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
• Demonstration of successful performance as project manager on a minimum of two (2) medium to large-sized projects or multiple project assignments in a significant role on large to very large-sized EPFC/CM projects
• Completion of all required in-house project management courses in addition to courses obtained from a university or other qualified sources
• Good knowledge and experience in project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start-up, turnover work processes, sequencing, and interfaces
• Project Controls and Finance including an understanding of:
- Scheduling (including manpower loading)
- Progress measurement
- Risk assessment and management
- Code of accounts
- Work breakdown structure
- Change management
- Cost control
- Estimating process and planning
- Global Pricing Model (GPM), Project Status Review (PSR) and Project Margin Analysis, Report (PMAR) development and reporting
• General understanding of contract law and when to engage Legal
• Regulatory requirements including permitting
• Understanding of project funding
• Experience with multiple commercial executions structures including Lump Sum/Reimbursable/Guaranteed Maximum price (Gmax)
• Proactive - goal orientated with the initiative to influence events positively, lead client’s project team, and influence clients for decision making
• Ability to resolve complex problems and to be comfortable in complex projects or business environments
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of self-performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
• Demonstration of innovation, initiative, maturity, and sound judgment
• Ability to influence a group of diverse individuals, each with their own goals, needs, and perspectives, to work together effectively for the good of a project
• Mobility - for example, relocating to site locations
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
• Certification in project management suggested, for example, Project Management Professional (PMP)
