A thrilling position is available for an EC & I Engineer – Commissioning (Mining Sector) at a leading Global Company in the Mining sector, located in Simandou - Guinea. Job Summary:
  • To lead and support the commissioning of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems for bulk material handling projects in the mining sector. The role ensures systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning & Start-Up:
  • Plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for EC&I systems.
  • Perform loop checks, functional testing, and system integration.
  • Engineering Support:
  • Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and control philosophies.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
  • Project Execution:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
  • Interface with contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere to site safety protocols and ensure all EC&I systems meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities.
  • Prepare handover documentation including test reports, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation Engineering.
  • ECSA Registration (or eligibility).
  • Minimum 5 years of EC&I engineering experience, with at least 3 years in commissioning roles.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., HIRA, First Aid, Working at Heights).
  • Proven experience in mining projects, especially bulk material handling systems (e.g., conveyors, crushers, stackers, reclaimers).
  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, VSDs, MCCs, and field instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., IEC, SANS, ISO).
  • Experience with commissioning software tools and documentation systems.
