We are looking for your expertise as a Lead EC & I Engineer overseeing design, integration, and implementation of EC&I systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations to join our esteemed client’s project team. Job Summary:
- To lead the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering function on EPCM projects within the mining and petrochemical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead EC&I engineering activities across all project phases from concept to commissioning.
- Develop and review EC&I designs, specifications, and drawings.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, and civil engineers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage vendor and contractor interfaces for EC&I systems.
- Provide technical leadership during construction and commissioning phases.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling for EC&I scope.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer within the team.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of EC&I engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
- ECSA Registration (or eligibility).
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is advantageous.
- Proven EPCM project experience in mining and/or petrochemical sectors.
- Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (IEC, SANS, ISO).
- Experience with design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP).
