The Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Provide leadership and guidance for site personnel, which includes but is not limited to Adherence to the company Safety and health plan as well as the IIPP for the construction site. field personnel, office, and fleet. In addition, inspect working conditions in office and construction settings to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Manage departmental documentation and PPE to maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Must be willing to travel & remain on site for extended periods of time.

Inspects the project to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Present, support and lead-by-example with a safety and quality orientated attitude.
Conduct site audits, ensuring company safety compliance.
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Monitors compliance with safety procedures. JSA, and other daily documents.
Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
Maintains records of safety violations and if necessary, manages regular all-hands meetings to promote safety culture. Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates at risk behaviors.
Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Job Requirements

• 2-4 years or more’ experience as either a, Safety Coordinator, Safety Manager, Safety Technician in, construction, renewable energy and Environmental construction safety if possible.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction) including, NIOSH, NFPA70E, DOT, Hazcom, Personal Safety Equipment etc.
• Ability to travel 90% of the time with work being completed in California area.
• OSHA 30 Certification OSHA 500,501,510 certifications are recommended as well.
• Working knowledge of general and construction safety for fall protection, working at heights, ladder safety, slip, trips and falls programs including electrical safety, defensive driving, etc.
• Ability to read and understand various types of tables, reports, engineering diagrams etc.
• Basic computer applications experience with MS-Office Suite (excel, word, outlook etc.)
• Excellent and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to include effective proof-reading and proper grammatical presentations
• Proven analytical skills reflecting the ability to be proactive with ability to pay keen attention to the smallest of details
• Must possess professional qualities that reflect and support positive inclusion and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work well as a team-member in a diverse environment
• Must be able to manage time effectively and meet/beat deadlines Other characteristics, behaviors, experience and skills that support best suitability for the position to participate and coordinate safety initiatives while gaining employee inclusion, respect and willingness to participate in building a strong team based safety culture.
