Environmental Specialist
Fluor has recently been awarded the PCM contract for the BHP South Flank Iron Ore project, located in the Pilbara.
The South Flank Project is being executed by a fully Integrated Project Team (IPT), jointly established by BHP and Fluor, consisting of employees from both organisations, as well as other contracting organisations as applicable. The BHP Charter Values will underpin the success of the IPT and South Flank Project, creating a culture which promotes trust, team engagement and productivity.
The project has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Environmental Specialist to work as part of the Integrated Project Team. This will be a site based role on a 20/8 roster, and the opportunity to join an exciting, large scale project in its early stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching, influencing and providing technical expertise in service of building Environment capacity and capability within project teams.
- Support the identification and capture of relevant environmental and compliance risks as per project risk management requirements.
- Support the undertaking of Environment compliance and risk management verification activities, as defined by the HSE Management System and project delivery contracts (Project specific HSE Management Plans).
- Support the deployment of improvement initiatives defined by the HSE Business Plan.
- Utilising the 1SAP Work Management process, as determined by the Work Management Group Level Document (GLD).
Technical Capabilities & Competencies:
Skills
- Experience in a similar role, on a large scale project within the mining sector
- Current 1SAP experience.
- Quantifiable computing and data reporting experience.
- Experience in promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with diverse teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to reliably deliver results and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management or similar.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Environmental role on site, in the Western Australian mining sector.
- Previous BHP site experience is highly desirable.
