One of the world's largest Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Project Management services is looking for a Lean Coach/Sensei with specialized lean expertise to coach and mentor Design, Engineering, Fabrication and Construction teams.

In the capacity of a Lean Coach, you would be required to:

• Deploy Lean Design and Construction holistically in accordance with the guidance, framework, methodology & roadmap provided by the Global Director (Lean Sensei) so that a wide transformation is enabled.
• Coach and mentor Design and Construction Leadership/front line staff in lean methods and improvement techniques.
• Support the global spread/replication of Lean practices, in accordance with targets set by the Global Director for Lean, so that efficiency and productivity gains are leveraged worldwide.
• Create fertile ground for lean (Small Group Kaizen, Toyota Kata, Employee ideas) as defined by the Lean deployment roadmap
• Identify and prioritize improvement plans that are aligned with the goals of Business Line and project leadership.
• Help define stakeholder expectations and drive the successful delivery and completion of improvement plans.
• Develop capabilities at all levels by planning and imparting Lean training – Cultural transformation.
• Develop capability at all levels (Frontline, Supervisors and Senior Management) to practice lean by transference of skills, knowledge and lean values experientially.
• Report progress and be guided by the Guiding Coalition for Lean established at office/project level.
• Update Lean Cockpit to deliver tangible benefits to cost, schedule and quality of the projects.
• Coach/Facilitate lean tool sets with close support as needed from the corporate lean leadership.

The position requires extensive experience in Lean methods/practices and improvement techniques with the focus being high level of proficiency in coaching/mentoring acquired through multiple cycles of observation of a Sensei/Coach at work, supervised coaching and independently coaching implementation of the following:
• Set Based Design/Set Based Concurrent Engineering also referred to sometimes as Preventive Design and known in our industry (EPC) as Target Value Delivery
• Target Value Design (Including steering towards Target Cost)
• Last Planner systems – Pull planning techniques, and its application in detailed design and Engineering
• Training Within Industry (TWI – JI, JM), as it applies to Design and Engineering work
• Standard work in a Design/Engineering environment
• Leader Standard work, particularly as it relates to the work of Design Leads
• Obeya /Mission Control for Design & Engineering
• Toyota Kata
• Continuous flow in a heavy industry, particular with modular fabrication
• Total Productive Maintenance
• Visual Project Management with specific emphasis on critical phases/Agile Kanban
• Lean Design Methods and Techniques such Co-design/Joint Design, Design Cells, Iterative incremental Design, Design Space Exploration
• Integrated Project Delivery

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering/technical field.
• Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s degree or global equivalent) in engineering discipline/technical field, preferred.
• Experience ranging from 5 years upwards of intense application of Lean Methods (listed above) and Kaizen Activity within Design and Engineering. Demonstrated experience of no less than 8 Events per year.
• Additionally, Experience ranging from 10 years upwards of intense application of Lean Methods and Kaizen Activity in general with preferred application in Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction.
Other Job Requirements
• Preferred candidates live in UK , Netherlands or Denmark
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Flexible and willingness to travel (other offices)
