Position Summary:
The Construction Outage Maintenance Planner is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and scheduling of maintenance activities during planned outages at industrial or construction sites. This role ensures that all resources, materials, and labor are effectively allocated to minimize downtime and maximize productivity and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed outage plans including scope, schedule, resource requirements, and budget estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to define outage work packages.
- Create and maintain outage schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required for outage work.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during outage execution.
- Monitor progress during outages and adjust plans as needed to address delays or issues.
- Conduct post-outage reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of all outage activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning, construction, or industrial outage coordination.
- Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and civil systems in industrial environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities during critical outage periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Certification in maintenance planning or project management (e.g., PMP, CMMS).
- Familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
