Job Details

Develops the equipment engineering for the project incorporating User requirements, Company guidelines and standards. Ensures follow-up during design, procurement, construction and commissioning of relevant standards and procedures. Provide expertise to project team for CapEx projects as mechanical lead in equipment engineering (Basic & Detail), Engineering coordination during procurement, construction and commissioning, with the perspective of Equipment, piping and packages, and with a SHE mindset.
Manage and co-ordinate entire engineering concerning equipment packages, layout and piping
Prepare the equipment scope of work for all projects mentioning and standards and guidelines to be followed for each inquiry group of equipment
Coordination with discipline leads and operations team members for all cross-functional data like Process data, Electrical/ Instrumentation, civil layouts, etc.
Prepare the cost estimate for the equipment and packages according Comapny CAPEX guidelines
Prepare Activity list & schedule for Project, all in coordination with project controlling group.
Prepare list of equipment and packages and identify long lea ds
Prepare piping scope of work and equipment layout
Co-ordinate with Project Management Lead for seeking approvals according to the ‘Delegation of Authority guidelines.
Participate in Concept & Basic Engineering activities like equipment datasheets, piping design basis, painting and insulation specifications in-line with PFDs, P&IDs, etc. with help of OPS team and consultant (as required)
Review and approve the documents like Equipment design Datasheets, Specifications, GAD, specifications etc
Lead in Engineering Activities like equipment list, layouts, piping GA, Isometrics, flu id list and codes, vendor drawings and documentation requirements, formalize inspection plans and procedures, identify equipment spares and special tools requirements etc.
Participate in 3D Model reviews, Hazop studies and incorporate the recommendations into project.
Participates in constructability reviews, supports cost estimation and provides input into
construction bid packages and contracts
Ensure design basis aligns with company Asset Care program
Preparation of Mechanical Data Sheets and BOQ for material & services
Preparation of Technical Bid Comparison for equipment and piping services in conjunction with project procurement manager
Ensure technical clarification & timely execution of Orders
Post ordering activities; like – design/drawing approval in line with the agreed schedule.
Coordinating & participating in stage wise inspection.
Support procurement to expedite timely payment to ensure timely delivery
Project scheduling related to equipment and piping in coordination with Project controller
Coordination with Function Head/OPS team for shutdown planning to meet timely completion
Ensure all the safety standard are followed during engineering, construction and commissioning
Implements a detailed work safety plan, conduct safety briefing and monitor safety
measures continuously
Ensure desired quality in work, through close coordination with Contractors & Consultants.
Sets up site infrastructure, utilities and temporary facilities and coordinates all activities of
all construction companies on site
Creating or Approving test procedures of contractor.
Supports , reviews and controls of equipment and piping related activities of contractors
Ensure calibration and field-testing of all equipment.
Help facilitate equipment technical training and package unit training (Maintenance & Ops.)
Manages construction, commissioning and handover after mechanical completion
Ensure regular safety training at site for employees, contractors and visitors, including
Behavior Based Safety programs
Ensure use of KMS for incident reporting (including Near miss & first aid) and MOC
