Our client, a globally leading EPC company, are seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join the team on a high profile project. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of the battery materials project by identifying and mitigating potential hazards throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and contribute to comprehensive hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP) for the battery materials process.
- Analyze potential hazards associated with raw materials, equipment, and process operations.
- Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Review process design documents, including P&IDs, to ensure adherence to safety principles.
- Provide technical support for the development of safe operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response plans.
- Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate safety considerations to engineers, operators, and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and standards for battery material production.
- Maintain a strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Safety Engineer in the chemical or related industry.
- Proven experience in conducting and contributing to hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP).
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies (LOPA, FMEA, etc.).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety.
