We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support the day‑to‑day operational procurement needs of a South African corporate office and affiliated entities. The role covers end‑to‑end operational procurement, supplier governance, and sourcing activities, while ensuring compliance with group procurement policies, framework agreements, and governance standards. This role is located in Johannesburg.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage operational procurement requests across multiple corporate functions, including Administration, HR, Finance, IT, Travel, and Health & Safety.
- Execute the end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Pay / Procure‑to‑Pay process, including PR validation, PO creation, order placement, expediting, and delivery tracking.
- Apply and enforce group procurement policies, governance, ethical standards, health & safety, and sustainability requirements.
- Conduct supplier due diligence, onboarding, negotiation, contract engagement, and ongoing supplier relationship management.
- Utilize existing framework agreements, consolidate demand, and identify opportunities to implement new or optimized agreements.
- Execute sourcing events end‑to‑end, including market consultation, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
- Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, savings tracking, and performance targets through accurate data analysis.
- Contribute to digital procurement initiatives, including ERP systems, procure‑to‑Pay processes, advanced Excel analysis, and Power BI reporting.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of procurement and category management principles, including supplier panel management.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics.
- Proven experience in operational procurement; experience in power generation, utilities, or industrial environments is preferred.
- CIPS Level 4 or higher (preferred).
