As a Project Manager in the construction industry, your role is pivotal in ensuring successful project execution. You’ll be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the project, from planning to completion. Specifically, your focus will be on engineering, procurement, and seamless communication between the home office and the construction site.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Interfaces:

    • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and surveyors to confirm building plans.
    • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications.
    • Conduct quality inspections to maintain high standards.
  2. Procurement Interfaces:

    • Develop sourcing strategies for project materials and equipment.
    • Identify opportunities within procurement categories.
    • Purchase or hire necessary building equipment and materials.
  3. Construction Interfaces:

    • Supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
    • Manage project timelines and schedules.
    • Monitor build costs and progress.
  4. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Liaise between the home office and the construction site.
    • Secure buy-in from different stakeholders.
    • Facilitate approvals for project workstreams.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CPSM, C.P.M, PMI, APICS, CSCP, CPIM, IACCM, CPM, or LEAN are advantageous.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with commercial purchasing procedures and strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database utilization.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.

Experience:

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
