Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical) with a strong background in data center projects, mechanical systems, and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will ensure that all mechanical work meets the required standards, project specifications, and compliance guidelines while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for mechanical systems in data center projects.
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, installation activities, and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure that all mechanical work complies with project specifications, standards, and safety codes.
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including test reports, inspection checklists, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Review and approve method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, fire-fighting systems, plumbing, and other mechanical utilities in data centers.
- Verify proper installation of mechanical equipment such as CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, ducting, piping, valves, etc.
- Monitor testing processes like pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, balancing, and performance testing.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IS codes).
- Support audits and ensure adherence to quality management systems.
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 6–8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in mechanical works, preferably in data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Certifications like ASQ, ISO, or relevant QA/QC training will be an added advantage.
Skills and competencies:
- Strong knowledge of data center mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling, firefighting, plumbing).
- Excellent understanding of QA/QC methodologies and quality standards.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Well-versed with ITPs, method statements, and quality control tools.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
