Location: Augusta, GA
Status of Hire: contract, hourly
Contract Duration: 6 months
Industry: complex processing, industrial manufacturing
Pay: $45-55/hr depending on experience
Drive implementation of a strong lockout tagout program. Boots on the ground in our complex processing facility verifying permits, checking locks, machine guarding, security, industrial hygiene, safety program adherence (slips trips falls), proper 5S practices, standard enforcement of safety policies, identification of safety hazards, supporting continuous improvement, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards; support departments in implementing and evaluating control measures
- Deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness of regulations, standards, and safe work practices
- Support the administration of the incident reporting and management system, ensuring accurate documentation of accidents, near misses, and other HSE events
- Participate in workplace incident investigations, assist in root cause analysis, and help implement corrective and preventive actions
- Collect and analyze safety data to identify trends and prepare reports for management review
- Maintain compliance documentation, safety records, and reporting requirements as directed
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to support compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or a related field preferred but would consider combination of 8+ years’ experience plus college coursework
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management or a related field
- Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or comparable environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant local, state, and federal compliance requirements
- Proven expertise in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, audits, and incident investigation
