We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a major grid and HVDC infrastructure project based in Murton, County Durham. This role will take full responsibility for on‑site construction delivery, stakeholder coordination, and safety‑led execution from project start through to completion.

Your role will include:

  • Acting as the primary on‑site focal point with the end‑client and consortium partners
  • Leading and managing construction activities from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with programme, budget and quality requirements
  • Overseeing all site operations, including site preparation, equipment installation, and supporting infrastructure works
  • Providing technical guidance and leadership throughout the construction phase, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations and codes
  • Managing contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, supervising works and ensuring adherence to specifications
  • Implementing quality control processes and carrying out inspections to maintain high construction standards
  • Proactively identifying risks and resolving issues efficiently to minimise disruption
  • Coordinating effectively with engineers, designers, consultants and local authorities
  • Enforcing strict health, safety and environmental standards and embedding a safety‑first culture on site
  • Maintaining accurate site records, progress reporting and documentation for all project stakeholders


What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years’ experience managing large‑scale industrial or energy infrastructure construction projects
  • Degree‑qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (experience with project management software is advantageous)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Project Management certification is desirable
  • Proven leadership, organisational and decision‑making capability
