We have an amazing opportunity with one of the world’s largest petrochemical manufactures and a leading supplier of thermoplastics.

The Senior Analyst, Risk and Trade Compliance role will be a part of the Legal Affairs team supporting the corporate third-party risk management program, ESG reporting and associated programs and international trade compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Work cross functionally to ensure the Company drives efficiency and maintains strong controls on third parties such as suppliers, customers, and other business partners through reputational due diligence and sanctions watchlist screening.
• Assist with the Company’s ESG reporting and engagement strategy and drive awareness of the Company’s ESG performance internally and externally, with a particular emphasis on social policies.
• Contribute to management of policies and procedures around trade compliance topics such as export controls, economic sanctions, customs, anti-bribery, and anti-money laundering. This portion of the job includes management of trade processes in IT systems including SAP, ECM, and SharePoint.
• The third-party risk management portion of the job includes:
• Conduct due diligence on a wide range of reputational risk issues such as anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, child labor, forced labor and other compliance issues.
• Perform watchlist screening and report results in a timely manner
• Monitor compliance with the Company’s Supplier Code of Conduct and other required international labor, social, environmental, health and safety regulations as well as standards for supply chain due diligence.
• Assign and monitor compliance training for third parties, including suppliers, distributors, and contractors
• Support developing enhancements for Anti-Bribery and Business Gifts and Hospitality Programs i.e., implementing effective and business-friendly policies, procedures, and training, supporting risk assessments, audit and monitoring activities, and third-party due diligence processes around anti-corruption/bribery related regulations (FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc.). This includes supporting, developing, and maintaining internal compliance tools to proactively identify high risk transactions, and conducting ongoing risk assessments and remediation throughout the organization.
• Work with the Sustainability & ESG team to design and implement regional sustainability initiatives that benefit the Company’s sustainability business goals, leadership positioning and impact.
• Support ESG ratings and disclosure, and associated ESG agenda.
• Develop and support corporate programs around human rights, anti-bribery, and other social issues
• Review business activities for trade controls nexus – export controls, sanctions, anti-bribery, etc.
• Help with monitoring regulatory updates and drafting of policies and procedures around trade compliance topics such as export controls, economic sanctions, customs, anti-bribery, and anti-money laundering.
• Assist with management of trade processes in IT systems including SAP

Requirements:

• JD, MS, or BA/BS
• Interest or experience in one or more of the following: dual-use export control regulations, economic sanctions, anti-bribery, human rights concepts, global business process development, or technology development in the chemical industry
• Creative, with passion for technology and attention to detail
• Committed, responsible, able to work in a global and virtual team or individually
• Strong oral and written communication skills, highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision
• Proficient in data analytics with a strong ability to develop accurate, transparent, and consistent metrics (experience in ESG metrics and/or public company reporting a plus)
• SAP and/or Ariba proficiency, and the ability to handle fast paced timelines for multiple, simultaneous, high-exposure initiatives
