Sr Project Manager

Our client is looking for a Sr Project Manager to support their growth within the Energy Transition (based on their own technology).

To help them deliver against their growth plans, they are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager. In this role you will establish and maintain a full working knowledge of the portfolio of projects, their scope of work, estimates & budgets, cost and schedule status, the commercial & contract conditions, and risk & opportunity management. Specifically, as the Senior Project Manager you will ensures projects adhere to a structured Front End Loading procedure and provide a solid basis for robust business cases.


The job:
As the Senior Project Manager, you will work closely together with management, the Projects team and the Technology Department.
• Input to the company's Energy strategy with a sound knowledge of the Engineering & Construction Industry and state-of-the-are Project Delivery methods.
• Pro-actively support Business Development efforts to secure new project opportunities.
• Own the delivery of projects through FEL-0, 1, 2 and 3 stages. FEL-0 and 1 are performed in-house, while FEL-2 & 3 will require working with third parties to fulfill scope.
• Shape project development plans, formulate execution plans and develop project staffing and budgets.
• Prepares, completes, and manages high quality Project Execution Plans
• Identifies, manages, mitigates/exploits project Risks and Opportunities
• Take an overall forward looking and balanced view of cost, schedule and commercial performance of projects and identify trends and potential problem areas in order that remedial actions can be addressed early by project teams.
• Achieve company's Energy and Project targets with regard to HSE, costs, schedule and quality.
• Display exceptional stakeholder-management skills to manage and aligns the various parties (internal and external) who are directly or indirectly involved in the project.
• Ensures that project execution fully complies with contractual commitments
• Promotes an investor’s business/commercial attitude on the project
• Implement an effective regular project reporting system for management review.
• Prepare Monthly Board Reporting on Project status, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Attend Project Operations and Commercial Reviews, and Board Meetings, as required.
• Develop execution and business skills in the organization as a whole and in individuals
• Continually improve company's Operating Model of Project Management policies, procedures, work processes and tools.
• Manage department data and information in accordance with company standards.
• Implement company procedures, practices in all assigned areas of responsibility.

Requested:
You excel in teamwork and communication, capable of engaging with both project teams and higher management. This role demands leadership, delegation, and independent task execution. You will translate technical complex topics to understandable manageable actions for the team, take proactive ethical actions to ensure project success, and you are open to travel for work.
• University degree in Engineering, Technical or Business studies, or equivalent on-the-job development.
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in similar project managing roles, ideally in an operational company or investment environment.
• On the job experience of complex projects with (petro-)chemical companies/contractors during the different phases of the project from Front End Loading to EPC & Start-up. Strong Front End Loading skills are preferred.
• Having experience and understanding of project management systems and tools. Knowledge of PowerBI is an advantage.
• Native standards of Dutch and working standard English language is required.
• You are currently living and working in The Netherlands (randstad area).
