Here is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a project team in beautiful Kitimat, British Columbia as a Waste Management Lead! You would be working alongside professionals of a growing EPCM/construction firm with global projects working toward a common goal. This opportunity provides exceptional work-life balance rotation of 14/7, potential for longevity, and optimal accommodations.
Reporting to the Site Wide Services 3rd Party Manager the successful candidate will take part in developing safety culture on the project, ensuring safety, cost, quality and schedule are conveyed with accuracy to the Site Services Management Team. This candidate will also be successful in the oversight and guidance on waste management techniques, refining and implementing the handling, storage and disposal of waste streams on site.
Job Duties:
- Analyzing the waste program and recommending the appropriate actions to meet our commitments.
- Supporting short and long-term plans, capital, operating and maintenance budgets for the Waste Management department.
- Coordinating with Waste Management Service Company to maintain timely removal of different streams of waste.
- Understanding Environmental and Regulatory contract deliverables.
- Ensuring manifests/documents are correct and meet regulatory requirements as well as preparing various types of waste reports for internal/ external
customers and government bodies.
Qualifications:
- 8-15 years of experience with progressive and varied experience in construction and Relevant technical diploma or degree (Environmental or Civil
Engineer/Scientist, Environmental Technician or similar background).
- Accreditation from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) such as the Manager of Landfill Operations course (MOLO), Managing Construction
and Demolition course, Recycling, or other SWANA course is desirable
- Expertise in project management
- Proficient in MS Office to include MS Project
- Strong interpersonal, listening and communications skills, capacity to build trust among internal and external stakeholders
