The role will see you be responsible for the management of all testing equipment setups for projects in alignment with the subcontractor’s provided items to complete Termination work scopes throughout all projects.
The Role
- Your core responsibility is to provide early on support to project engineering teams by reviewing testing procedures or attending any trainings or mock-ups planned by project teams as well as assessment of subcontractor personnel’s quality of good workmanship through trade tests.
- Completing internal document checks (IDC) of Electrical Engineering Procedures and Scope of Works as Cable Installation Delivery (CID)
- CID Input into standards for Cable Testing activities together with Electrical Engineering
- Maintaining the LL process from Cable Testing Operations and feeding improvements back into cable installation processes
- Arrange or attend training events and routine training for T&T supervisors and subcontractors
- Liaising with Projects on test equipment requirements and manage testing equipment arrangements via own and 3rd Party assets
- Participate in T&T design/scope reviews from projects and support technical queries for operations as CID
- At site training and support for offshore teams to facilitate site testing
- Assist with analysis of PD test results and complete PD assessment reports for test report completion
- Detailed technical knowledge of Inter Array Grid Site Acceptance Testing (HV Cable & FO) Test activities and equipment for 33 and 66kV offshore windfarms
- Experience of Test activities for OWF export cables greater or equal to 120k
- Previous experience as HV Test Engineer in a similar offshore/onshore environment
- Previous experience working with Medium and High Voltage in a similar offshore/onshore environment
- Previous termination experience with 33kV and 66kV installations of termination products from different manufacturers (Pfisterer/TE/Nexans/NKT) and above
- Electrical engineer or Electrical Competent/ Skilled Person as per BS7671, EN50110 or national equivalent
- Willingness to temporarily conduct short offshore trips for familiarisation of T&T work teams with equipment setups when necessary
- Professional communicator with multiple stakeholders from management to operational level.
