Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Implementation and development of the Program and Construction Execution Plan
• Development with FEED Contractor of FEED stage Construction Execution Plan for each project
• Development with FEED stage Contractor of Execute stage Construction Execution Plan
• Identification and planning of early works site activities especially for brownfield tie-in, dismantling and infrastructure scopes, including management of same for activities performed at site during FEED stage; including necessary co-ordination with Asset Operations team
• Preparation of plans and documents for Execute stage including set-up of temporary facilities, roads, warehousing, laydown, security, welfare and catering, heavy haul/lift, barge dock and module planning
• Monitoring, oversight and active support to the FEED Contractor’s constructability program and FEED stage deliverables
• Ensuring delivery of quality FEED stage deliverables to meet schedule
• Development of HSE documentation with Project HSE Managers, ensuring a Construction-Led HSE approach for site activities
• Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
• Ensuring IPMT verification and stage gate process is developed and adhered to for each project
• Identification and implementation of efficiency savings across projects
• Execution of early surveying, set-up and early works activities as required by schedule
• Ensuring all field construction activities are in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards
• Control project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources including FEED Contractor’s resource
• Typically serve as lead person to coordinate all site activities with Program and Project stakeholders and in particular with Owner's Refinery Operations teams
• Demonstrate excellent skills in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, communication, and leadership; possess strong presentation ability to address senior management, Operations and Asset management
• Have functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management as it applicable to assigned area of responsibility; possess the capacity to direct those functions as required to support the project execution while typically being well seasoned in most functions as they apply to management of the project
• Develop required staffing plans and organization charts for projects
• Monitor performance and generate reports on project activities in line with Project Controls reporting requirements.
• Develop Construction sequences (Path of Construction) and development of construction programmes that support project milestones, with FEED Contractor. Emphasizing standardization and modularization approach where this is appropriate. Including oversight of Modularization Lead and Plan.
• Ability to learn and understand our client’s Construction automation tools and AWP systems to influence IPMT team and Contractors to meet requirements
• Support Construction Estimates for Temporary facilities and Indirect costings.
• Organize and prioritize a variety of multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner
Typical Minimum Qualifications – Related Education, Experience & Skills:
• Accredited 4 year degree or global equivalent in engineering or construction management preferred but not essential
• Previous experience in a role accountable for site or construction management in related industry, ideally on project of $1B TIC.
• Modularization experience preferred
• At least 10 years experience in similar role
• Experience of leading construction through FEED stage and site-setup at start of Execute stage
• Demonstrable leadership abilities of a large team
• Demonstrable Leadership in Health and Safety
• Ability to work within a large project team with excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills
• Demonstrable strong decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Proven ability promoting outstanding customer service and client relations
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets and presentations software; knowledge of P6 planning
