The Cost Lead / Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Admin will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of the steel plant construction project in Boden, Sweden. Working on behalf of the main EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor, this role will ensure accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration to support the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of the construction project, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and expenditures are within the allocated budget.
- Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of contracts, including reviewing and negotiating terms, managing contract changes, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Cost Reporting: Prepare and present regular cost reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any variances and providing recommendations for cost control.
- Procurement: Assist in the procurement process by evaluating bids, negotiating prices, and ensuring that materials and services are procured at the best possible cost.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential cost risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all cost-related activities, including estimates, budgets, contracts, and change orders.
- Compliance: Ensure that all cost management activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or contract administration on construction projects, preferably in the industrial sector.
- Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in cost estimation and project management software.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in cost management, quantity surveying, or contract administration are preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working on-site at the construction location in Boden, Sweden.
- The role may involve working in various weather conditions and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
