Position: Customer Service Representative
Location: Charleston, SC
Employment Type: Full-time/Direct Hire
Salary: $45,000-$55,000 DOE

Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring a high level of service through accurate order management, effective communication, and strong cross-functional coordination. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while supporting both domestic and global teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and timely support

  • Manage customer communications via phone and email in coordination with assigned team members and cross-functional departments (both local and global)

  • Independently process and manage incoming customer orders, including changes, modifications, and special requests

  • Coordinate closely with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders

  • Respond promptly and effectively to customer inquiries and complaints, collaborating with the sales team and other relevant departments as needed

  • Actively support Accounts Receivable activities in collaboration with the assigned team

  • Ensure accurate and timely sharing of customer-related information with internal stakeholders

  • Utilize internal systems and software consistently and in accordance with company standards

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting additional responsibilities as needed to meet business objectives and company goals


Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience will be considered

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external customers

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude

  • Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and complete assignments with minimal supervision

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including destinations that may require proof of vaccination


Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations

  • Maintain reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with attendance standards

  • Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching as required

  • Potential exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via telephone and in person
