Engineering Manager

A multinational manufacturer in the chemicals and polymers sector are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager for their site near Hull, to manage all engineering activities on site. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of all engineering activities including CAPEX and company objectives, to deliver product to the required specification, efficiently and in a safe manner according to company and legal requirements. You will have 5 direct reports including ECI, Mechanical, Projects and Process with overall responsibility for 25+ engineering employees.
To be considered for this Engineering Manager position, you will be degree educated in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, ECI, Process), with a significant amount of experience spent in a senior management role within the chemicals/polymers industry, ideally from a COMAH site. This position has arisen through internal promotion, and is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting, growing global presence. Key Responsibilities
• Lead the engineering teams on site (ECI, Mechanical, Project, Process) to ensure they meet KPI's
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives that will improve manufacturing performance on quality, cost and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance and SHE procedures across the entire site is closely adhered to.
• Support the Site Manager on strategic projects and the development of the capital plan
• Conduct training and development of engineering employees, promoting core company values
Knowledge and Experience
• Degree educated in Engineering (Chemicals, Mechanical, ECI, Process) - Mechanical and Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Significant experience spent within the chemicals/polymers industry ideally with COMAH experience.
• Significant experience at senior management level (circa 5 years+) within the chemical/polymer manufacturing sector.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with proven experience of leading a high-performing team.
