Our client is a prominent independent supplier and marketer of fuel and petroleum products and a leading convenience store operator. They serve diverse retail, commercial and wholesale customers across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean region, and South America.
Position Title: Informatica Administrator
Team and Location: IT – Calgary, AB
Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures Informatica platform availability through product installation and hardening, version upgrades, patch management, daily system monitoring, usage reporting, Security/user authentication and management, ETL project/object promotion and development, UAT and production environments, creating data connectors, Server performance tuning, troubleshooting and work with IT to ensure optimum system performance.
- Implement procedures to maintain, monitor, backup, and recovery operations for ETL environment/project.
- Informatica Domain setup/config on multi environment (Dev / QA / UAT / Prod), also establishing projects, roles, users, privileges in the ETL environments.
- Designs, implements, and administers Informatica security, managing logs, domain objects, and domain reports.
- Foster relationships with the Informatica vendor, ensuring software updates, and industry best practices.
- Develops and documents policies and procedures for Informatica system processes, maintain and document Informatica related data profiles/engineering and architecture.
- Maintains current knowledge of advancements in the latest Informatica technologies.
- Support developers on Informatica issues and guide them to follow the best practices and standards
- Work with various technical teams to develop and manage the execution and implementation of plans for high to critical complex new applications.
- Works closely with DBA for the purpose of performance tuning, upgrades, and archive strategy.
- Support Parkland data initiative (Data Quality, MDM, Data Conversion etc.) by staying current on industries best practice for data integration and management.
- Provides cross-training, support and knowledge transfer to developers and business users/ community.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5-7 years of experience in Informatica admin activities and/or Bachelor’s degree in IT, business or related field required.
- Proficiency in a range of Informatica products, including IICS, Power Centre, DEI, EDC, Axon, MDM, and IDQ, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their functionalities.
- Hands-on experience in managing Informatica server and cluster, covering tasks such as installation, configuration, performance optimization, upgrades, and the application of patches and hotfixes.
- Proven expertise in Informatica security administration, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and managing access.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret user manuals, technical procedures, or business communication.
- Strong data modeling, data architecture, Data Integration, and Data Modeling and data warehouse skills.
- Expert level experience in SQL, MS SQL server, programming, and query optimization.
- Experience with SaaS environments.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, capable of addressing complex issues efficiently.
