As a package unit mechanical engineer you will be technically responsible for the equipment scope for a large variety of (inter-)national brown field, grass root and revamp facilities. You will be working in a team of diverse engineers, located in several offices around the globe, in a multi-discipline project environment. For this, well developed communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to work in a collaborative project task force, generating and fostering internal and external client relationships are required.

The package unit mechanical engineer will work on various equipment such as mixers, filters, scrubbers, ejectors, silencers, waste water handling equipment, truck / marine loading, overhead cranes, hoists and various packaged units like units for absorption, chemical injection, refrigeration, foam generation, vacuum generation, hydrogen production, dehydration, dew point correction, demin water production, nitrogen production, etc. Close interaction & cooperation with world- wide equipment suppliers is required

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Calculations for equipment selection and (preliminary) equipment sizing
  • Preparation of material requisitions for inquiry and purchase
  • Preparation & review of technical evaluations of supplier bids
  • Review of supplier drawings & documents
  • Attend supplier meetings & resolve issues related to manufacturing
  • Participate in inspections and factory acceptance tests, delivery to site, site (installation) support and turn-over
  • Coordinate / interface with engineering disciplines process, piping, electrical, control systems and civil for equipment & facility design as well as with clients
  • Plan the execution of the work, track progress & report to the Mechanical Lead Engineer
  • Train / coach junior mechanical engineers

Basic Job Requirements:
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years experience of mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as API, ASME, ISO, PED & ATEX
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written. German and/or Dutch are an advantage
  • Flexible and willing to travel
  • Experience with Scrum, Lean, Agile Methodologies or willingness to learn in practice.
