This position will work closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, providing robust data, insights, and governance to support decision-making across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain integrated project controls frameworks, including cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
- Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring alignment with scope, procurement, and construction activities.
- Monitor project performance against baseline plans, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Implement and manage earned value management (EVM) where appropriate.
- Own project risk and opportunity management, including quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis.
- Manage change control processes, ensuring impacts to cost, time, and risk are fully assessed and approved.
- Prepare and present clear, concise project controls reports for senior stakeholders and steering groups.
- Support investment approvals, business cases, and decision gates with accurate and timely project data.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, controls, and reporting standards.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to project team members on project controls best practice.
- Interface with external contractors, consultants, and partners as required.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a Project Controls Manager, Senior Project Controls, or Cost & Planning Manager role.
- Strong background in large-scale infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrable expertise in:
- Cost control and forecasting
- Planning and scheduling (Primavera P6, MS Project or similar)
- Risk management and quantitative risk analysis
- Change control and performance management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate it clearly.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary and matrix project environments.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certification or training in project controls, planning, or cost management is desirable (e.g. AACE, PMI, or equivalent).
Contract Details
- Contract role with the potential for extension based on project needs.
- Competitive day rate depending on experience.
- Hybrid working arrangements may be available, subject to project requirements.
