Job Title: Project Engineer
We are currently seeking a high caliber Project Engineer for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in the Inland Empire.

Job Overview:
The Project Engineer (PE) is a student in how the field is run, how construction materials are assembled and leading subcontractors. All of which are imperative to learn in becoming a complete builder. The PE is also the horsepower behind moving information to the field to ensure our schedule obligations are met. The PE understands that urgency and accuracy of information is critical to providing great service to the field. The PE takes complete ownership in all aspects of his/her area of influence. In order to function at the highest level, the PE must have a “remove any and all obstacles” attitude and a “servant” mindset to achieve superior results in alignment with the best interest of the team and the Project Performance Objectives.

The PE primarily serves the Production Process. Communication with subcontractors, inspectors, architects, and owners is essential. The Project Engineer is required to achieve superior results in seven project management objectives (Client Satisfaction, Company Contribution, Gross Profit, Quality, Safety, Schedule, and Team Development). The roles and performance expectations listed below represent most responsibilities a PE will be engaged in on a project. Other technical applications will be required from time to time and all divisions of focus of work will be coordinated by the PM, Super, Lead Project Engineer, and/or Senior Project Engineer.

Job Duties:
Administrative ........................................................................ Orderly command of all project documents
1. Document Control
    1. As-built management
    2. RFI process management
    3. Submittal process management
    4. LEED compliance

 

2. Risk Management
a. Bond and insurance compliance assistance
    1. Building and operating permit acquisition
    2. SWPPP monitoring & compliance
    3. Certified payroll monitoring assistance
    4. Safety orientation, monitoring, & reporting

 

3. Project Closeout
a. Register development and management
    1. O&M’s, warranties, as-builts, extra stock collection compliance
    2. Commissioning, testing, agency sign-off
    3. Owner training & instruction
    4. Archiving

1. Procurement & coordination with project schedule
    1. Log development and management

 

2. Quality Control
a. Material procurement matches submittal.
    1. Workmanship compliance and monitoring
    2. CDA / BIM
    3. Work to complete and punch list development and management.

 

3. Field Resolution
a. Assemble conflict resolution
    1. Effective RFIs with suggested solutions
    2. Hold design team accountable for timely responses

 

4. Supervision Support
a. Conducts preparatory meetings
    1. Active participant in Foreman meetings
    2. Subcontractor installation coordination and QA/QC
    3. Material delivery coordination
    4. Coordination with IOR and inspection request process management
    5. Interim field supervision as needed and Daily Journal compliance

Job Qualifications:
  • CMiC Manager, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and REVIT
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Continuing education in Safety and First Aid
  • This is a field and/or office position with work occurring on one or multiple sites at a time. Working from the job site and/or visiting multiple projects is required. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noise. Includes climbing, accessing high places, carrying and being in proximity to moving mechanical parts. Requires frequent bending, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking and lifting 20 lbs. or more.
