Job Title: Sales Manager – Clean Room
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Duration: Full time/Direct Hire
Compensation: $200,000 - $225,000 base plus bonuses


SUMMARY
The Sales Manager, Cleanroom Americas (SMCA) is responsible for leading and executing the commercial sales strategy for Cleanroom Business Unit across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. This role oversees a geographically dispersed sales team and is accountable for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening strategic customer relationships between both end-user customers and distributor partners. Reporting directly to the Strategic Business Unit Manager, the Sales Manager partners closely with Product Management, Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment between sales execution and overall business objectives.
     
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Others may be assigned.
  • Fosters a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven sales culture that aligns with company values and business unit objectives.
  • Translates business unit goals into actionable sales plans and territory objectives. Develops and implements sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability targets.
  • Leads, coaches, develops, and motivates a high-performing sales team across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
  • Establishes clear performance expectations, key performance indicators (KPIs), and accountability metrics for the sales organization, leveraging objective data sources such as CRM.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations, pipeline reviews, and field coaching sessions. Provides timely, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and presents regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Serves as a primary communication link between the field sales team and corporate leadership by sharing market insights, feedback, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Communicates corporate updates, policies, and strategic initiatives clearly and consistently to the field-sales team.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the cleanroom product portfolio and effectively communicates product features, benefits, and value propositions to customers and distributor partners.
  • Travels frequently with direct reports to support customer engagement, strengthen relationships, provide coaching, and assess performance.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with end-user customers and distributor partners. Ensures exceptional support by proactively addressing issues or concerns while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Gathers and analyzes market intelligence to identify trends, assess competitive dynamics, and understand evolving customer needs. Shares insights with Product Management, Marketing, R&D, Technical Services, and other key stakeholders.
  • Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with  quality goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The SMCA manages direct reports in the Cleanroom Americas sales organization. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA. or BS.) from a four-year accredited college or university; or 10+ years of industry-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience managing direct reports is required.
  • Basic knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements (i.e., EPA, FDA, ISO) is required.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. 
  • Experience working within Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems is required.
  • Previous experience working within Cleanroom, or another regulated industry, is strongly preferred.

This position requires domestic and international business travel, including overnight travel, up to 75% of any given year.
