Client is looking for a Senior / Lead Process Engineer
Project Type: Oil & gas, petrochemical, Chemicals plants
Location: Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia
Requirements/Qualification:
- KSA‑based candidates highly considered
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
- 10+ years relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical process plants.
- Prior PDP / FEED and DEP execution experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of PDP and FEED workflows.
- Proficiency in process engineering software such as Aspen Engineering Suit, HTRI, AFT, etc.
- Thorough understanding of process control philosophy and safeguarding.
- Hands-on experience of producing process engineering deliverables for large-scale projects related to process and utility systems.
- Ability to review licensor, vendor, contractor’s packages
- Experience in preparing / reviewing projects scope (ITB), technical proposals and man hour estimation.
- Knowledge and experience of flare, relief, and hazardous area concepts
- Strong knowledge of Codes & Standards (API, ASME, ISO, NFPA, etc.) and Regulations (HCIS, RCER etc.)
- Develop and review Process Design Basis (PDB) and Design Philosophy documents.
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs).
- Develop and review Heat & Material Balances (HMBs).
- Perform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus or equivalent.
- Define operating cases, turndown, start-up, shutdown, and upset scenarios.
- Perform various process engineering calculations including line sizing, system hydraulics and equipment sizing.
- Develop and review P&IDs including control philosophy, safeguarding layers, and operating logic.
- Ensure correct representation of control schemes, interlocks, trips, and alarms.
- Lead and close P&ID reviews / HAZOP actions with proper documentation.
