Support on Sizing of Pressure Safety Valves

Our client, one of the world's largest listed companies for engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and maintenance, has identified the need for support on Sizing of Pressure Safety Valves.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Sizing of PSVs according to DIN ISO 4126 – 10 for complex design cases e.g.:
- two-phase flow
- flow of boiling liquids or liquids with dissolved gases
- pressure relief of vessels with content close to the critical point (complex thermodynamics and physical properties, multi-component mixtures)
- fire case scenarios for vessels completely filled with liquid (API 521)

For these tasks typically dynamic simulations or flow calculations and pressure drop in two-phase flow are essential. In addition, physical properties of multi-component mixtures are required.

The final product is a written report in German containing all relevant information regarding the design case, including assumptions, calculation methods and results of valve sizing.

The collaboration is planned to start in Q1 2020. Duration: 1-2 years.

REQUIREMENTS TO A POTENTIAL RESOURCE:

- min. 2 years of working experience in design of complex safety valves
- senior engineering level experience in chemical industry and with DIN ISO 4126 – 10 and API 521
- fluent in German (also for writing technical reports) is a must!
- used to work in dynamic environment and used to work independently
