Work Location: Northern BC site
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Rotation Schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage on-site construction activities, with a strong focus on heavy civil and earthworks scopes
- Coordinate contractors and construction teams to ensure work aligns with approved plans and schedules
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Monitor daily progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues or delays
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits
- Prepare and deliver daily and weekly construction progress reports
- Manage labour, materials, and equipment resources effectively
- Support construction planning, sequencing, and scheduling activities
- Act as a key coordination point between construction, engineering, and project management teams
- Provide direct support to a designated Business Partner, requiring strong technical understanding and sound judgment
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in construction leadership roles on large-scale industrial, mining, or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in Heavy Civil and Earthworks construction is required
- Demonstrated technical aptitude to support construction planning, issue resolution, and coordination activities
- Proven experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams in site-based environments
- Prior experience working on remote or camp-based projects is an asset
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to balance hands-on site execution with coordination and reporting responsibilities
- Local or regional knowledge is considered a strong advantage
Additional Requirements
- Relevant safety certifications for construction leadership
- Experience with construction management and reporting tools is an asset
- Willingness to work on site and travel as required
