We are currently recruiting Engineering and Projects specialists within the mining sector to support the delivery of integrated project services across the full project lifecycle. Our focus is on securing highly skilled professionals who can contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable projects and operational outcomes.
As we prepare for upcoming project opportunities and anticipated contract awards, we are proactively building a strong network of specialist talent to ensure readiness to mobilize once work is confirmed.
We are seeking a skilled Project Cost Engineer to lead the planning and management of cost control systems across medium to large-scale projects. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial tracking, cost forecasting, and effective cost control throughout the full project lifecycle. This role is based in Johannesburg. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement integrated cost control plans aligned with project scope and schedule.
- Review cost estimates, cash flow forecasts, and ensure alignment with project structures (WBS).
- Establish and manage cost control systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Monitor project costs, track variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply financial analysis and Earned Value Management (EVM) to support decision-making.
- Manage change control processes and maintain accurate forecasts and cashflows.
- Identify cost risks and support mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle.
- Provide clear, accurate financial reporting and insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Finance, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- 5–8 years’ experience in cost engineering within construction or engineering projects.
- Strong financial analysis, cost control, and reporting skills.
- Experience with cost management systems and project controls methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
