Experience: 10+ Yrs.
Position Overview:
The Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the graphite and quartz mining project in Tanzania. This includes liaison with local government and regulatory bodies, team building and overlooking construction and plant development, and ensuring smooth operations from project inception to ground establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Building & Leadership:

- Recruit, develop, and manage teams for construction, plant operations, and mining activities.
- Foster a collaborative work environment
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Liaison & Government Relations:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory, environmental, and compliance matters.
- Ensure timely acquisition of permits, licenses, and clearances necessary for project development and operations.
Project Development & Implementation:

- Lead the planning and execution of the greenfield graphite and quartz mining facility.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet milestones and operational targets.
- Implement systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Negotiation & Stakeholder Management:

- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and terms with vendors, service providers, and government entities including land acquisition
- Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, investors, and key stakeholders.
Industry Expertise:

- A strong aptitude for quickly learning and understanding the mining industry and related manufacturing or processing sectors, with an eye for grasping technical nuances and operational intricacies.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience (10+ years) in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Network building and understanding of Tanzanian local government systems.
- Demonstrated ability in team leadership, interpersonal skills, construction project management, and plant development.
- Exceptional communication, system implementer, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with greenfield project development and operationalizing new facilities.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
